I tried flashing my X3 chip with the latest X3 Bios and it freezed about 1/4 of the way during flashing. I tried an EVO X bios and it works fine.

Any Ideas?

Same result with the switch bank unplugged.. flash gets about 1/4 on the green and then freezes, but it will take the evo X right after that.. very strange.

It sounds like you do not have your bios switches set to accept a 1MB bios. How do you have the bios swithces configured when your attempting to flash the X3 bios??

I have now tried both ways.. unplugging the switch at the switch and unplugging the switch at the chip and I still get the same reaction when I try and flash the bios. Thanks again..

I'm having a similar issue as this. My flashing gets through just over half way, then freezes. I let it sit for a good 40 minutes, came back and it was in the same place. The xbox would flash orange, go dark, then flash green, repeating. I assume this was the generic 'Flashing' response. I havent tried any other X3 bioses, X2 or Evox bioses, but I'd like to know what the problem is. I'm pretty sure all my connections are good.

Btw, this was using 1-on 2-on 3-off 4-off 5(protect)-off for the bank to flash. I'd like to know what the problem is.. at least I can always use the backup bios to reflash.
