Hi guys, sorry to bother you!

First things first - this is my 7th xbox MOD, and only had one miss soder so far!!

Secondly - I have a 1.6 board, X3 chip.

Symptons

I have soldered the header and plugged everythig in, I havent used the rebuild board, just soldered directly to the board.
If i hold the button the chip goes red and it boots to the MS dash.
If i boot the the flash bios then it works.
After I flash the bios with the 1959_16 bios it flashed and then shut down.

Now whenever I turn the box on it powers up - turns off - powers up - turns off and then stays powered up, but i dont get and video output to my Tv. The LED around the power button goes mad cycling through all the colours.

I have tried another chip on the board and it does exactly the same. i have also resoldered all of the point 3 times, so i'm pretty sure i'm making good contacts.

I know this has probably been on here before, and have trawled through the forum looking.

Any help would be appreciated.

Let me guess that you did a CD flash of the BIOS ?

can you get back to the flash bios screen by booting with power and eject together. The X3 LED will turn purple. If so then it was just a bad flash or corrupted file. so just reflash.

yeah i can get back to the flashbios screen no probs. i have flashed several times, even tryin older bios' but no luck.

Could both my chips be damaged? Just seems weird all this started when i put a bios on them!!

Sounds like a bad flash/bios. Try downloading the bios again, and then try flashing your box via HTTP/FTP instead of the CD-RW.

EDIT:
Almost forgot, you might also want to try flashing to a different bank, off on off off

And that would make me right for asking about the CD !! ... seems to go wrong a lot when done one a CD flash .... SOoooo much easier by HTTP - especially if you have a choice - it's a no-brainer !!

Glad you sorted it ...
