x3 config live problems...

Only really have this problem when loading up into a dashboard or whatever.. but basically it will load into the x3 config live and I only get like 1 frame every 3 seconds or whatever, I was wondering if there was a certain setting I need to have it on or whatever.

It also seems to do it when I throw in a autoload dashboard disc (slayer evox auto installer)

I can navigate the options but it takes like 20 minutes to set through things, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I need to do to get rid of the nice 1 FPS problem? Other than this it runs games fines

Wierd problem you probably want to post your hardware config i.e. xbox version and any other mods you have done. Also don't be so impatient no one works off your time.

it does this when it cant detect a dvd rom or hdd

Maybe a bad jumper setting on the HD or DVD rom then causing disk io timeouts?

Hmm im taking it its the hard drive its having problems finding, when it shows up that x3 life config screen it shows up only shows liek the amount the drive can hold after the e:

Before i modded the xbox I was getting error code 16 errors, and that was about it.

The really strange thing is I can play xbox games and still save stuff to the harddrive, and still am aable to load stuff from it too.

try searching for error 16 stuff

also check your dvd rom connections

Yea was just about to update, I loaded up xbox without the modchip and now get an error code of 13 instead which seems to be that for a missing dashboard (i think), so I'm gonna try and fix that and see if it helps or anything.

Heatsinks!

Ok so I have a FUBAR 360 and a 360 with an old style GPU heatsink, My question is, is it a good idea to put the CPU heatsink on the fubar 360s GPU? I feel like this would draw a lot more heat off of it.

Well, my concern is the fan shroud, would it still effectively pull air off of the heat sink. If not I risk destroying the 360.

G1 heatsinks need to be turned 90 degrees to work.just cut the low side off the original shroud make a card board temp first and use it's pcs to shape a plexi shroud. i've done three or four of these now and have held up quite well. would recommend getting a heatgun to help with the shaping.

You can buy a 20 inch long DVD Drive Power Cable so you can mount the DVD Drive on top of the case to make room for the bigger heatsink. Go to Google and type in Airflow Cables. This website also has a tutorial on putting the 2nd generation CPU Heatsink on the GPU.
