I guess I was also unfortunate to try out the password selection in X3 Config Live only to find out about the bug. I have a 1.6 xbox version with a X3ce chip. I read the posts to re flash with an earlier bios (used 3029), and it worked. I was able to renter the the password an load up in the my dash. the problem is that I can't seem to find out how to remove the password. It gives me the option to enter it, and then the only button I can figure out to use is Y which then automatically loads me to the dash. I can't get back into config live. I've tried rebooting while holding the white button, but it just brings me back to the password entry screen. Any idea how I can get rid of the password?

yea, hold the white button until the password screen pops up. then enter your password. and as soon as you hit Y hold the white button again(i don't know for sure if you have to hold the white button again, but the first time i ever tried it, that worked for me, so i just did that everyime)...

Thanks I'll try that. I just found another possilbe tool called X3 erase found in 1959 bios. Is that worth a try? Thanks I'll try holding it there too.
can you still get backup to work power / eject at same time if so flash 1959 to the other bank then you will be able to remove the password with the 1959
