X3 Control Panel and DVD Remote

I love to use XBMC, especially with the remote (especially when I check the weather for the blistering heat we have over here). Therefore, I am deciding to use it as my primary dash. But I have experienced a few problems: I want to get the X3 Control Panel, and as I was observing the looks of the Panel, I noticed that the LCD screen takes up most of the space above the third and fourth controller ports, which is where I hook up my DVD remote receptor. I also notice that the screen protrudes out as well, therefore making the remote protrude as well.

My question is, is there any alternative install or alternative hook up for this? I know that the panel has an IR port as well, so can you use that one instead?

One more thing, anyone using XBMC as your dash? Thanks.

The LCD doesn't protrude, the dongle flows with the front panel, the LCD is recessed, it will fit, you won't see much of the screen.. I put mine in controller port 2 and a controller in port 1

2 is about the best place for it, it definitely won't fit in 1

the LCD sits flush with the panal. Abd why not just stick the remote on the second controller port. It would work fine there.

Well I really like the remote IR receptor to be in 4, but since I have no choice, might as well just put it in two. Thanks guys.

Why not follow xbox-scenes tutorial to integrate the dongle into your control panel. That is pretty nifty in my oppinion.
Really? One can do that? Well, wtf am I waiting for? Thanks man. I'll find the link!
