1.6 or 1.6b?

WHOA IF YOU HAVE A 1.6 YOU NEEEED TO DO THE LPC REBUILD

did you do the rebuild even tho you didn't use the board?

First is your box 1.6 or 1.6b? I know you said 1.6, but you posted in the 1.6b help forum.

If you have 1.6b then you'll need the flashbios 3.0.3, but it might already be on your chip. Have you tried booting from different banks on the chip?

Next make sure you use the original control (the gigantic one they originally released) but if that isn't working then I heard of a kid who could only control it with the remote control that comes with the DVD playback kit, but i'm not 100% sure about that.

When i installed the LPC rebuild, my box wouldn't start up, it would flash red and green, like somethings wrong, I checked all the connections. When i did the lpc rebuild by soldering the wires one by one, it worked fine but couldn't use controller. With the board My box didn't turn on.

LPC rebuild is a term used for either using the little board, or the wires. As long as you did one of those. Also, it's really hard to see the selections change in Cromwell when you go through the flash/hd lock/etc options. did you try select one and see if it works?

Close I think, there's a new MS controller out that doesn't work with the flashbios (from what I've heard), the soultion is to plug in the DVD dongel and then you should be able to use the contoller (not the remote) to navigate the menu........I think...

I've just ran into the same problem. Can't use the controller. BIOS comes up fine (V3.0.1) but cannot select ANYTHING. I've rechecked the MOD 3 times, rebuilt the MOD once just to make sure and tried serveral flash banks (always 3.0.1 or nothing).

Controller works fine in with the XBOX BIOS.

This is a pretty new Xbox MFG Date: 2004 10 19. Was the Christmas package with NCAA football and Tennis.

Is there anyway to put a new BIOS in without the XBOX? (Direct load with a cable?)
The Xecuter seems real pointless if I can't get to it.

If you can get the flashbios up OK you can just use the http flash to put on the new bios. Just connected the xbox to your PC and from internet explorer http into the xbox.....can't remeber what the default ip address is but I'm sure if you do a search you shall find :)

Interesting....

I just got a USB keboard and that seemed to control the selection fine.

Wonder what MS is up to with the controller? They signing controllers now?

BTW...

I did try to go to the default HTTP flash mechanism. 192.168.0.99
It did not respond... I'm thinking I need to 'Enable Network Flashing' for the TCP stack to even come up?

I did check out if it was 1.6 or 1.6b or other.
Xbox logo on Video Chip
Samsung RAM
= V1.6 Is what I've found on xbox-scene.

So I can pretty much verify that the new XBOX controllers are an issue. I'll try to get my hands on some older controllers to see if they work.

Thanks for the help guys!

new controler problems is quite possible. I've never had a problem with all my mods that I've done, but I realized, that I always use my controler on people boxes. It's an old Dec-2001 controler too. Big and beautiful *L*
