X3 Debug Bios 1.6

I am running the X3 3294 v16plus BIOS - evox runs fine.

My question is for using the XDK. Which debug BIOS works with my 1.6 with X3CE?

HOLY 5H17!

I am clearly n00b-=2;

I just got the xdk launcher - which hung after a few seconds (but progress nonetheless).

I had never set the "Debug BIOS Mode = Enabled" in the "X3 Live Config". Once I did that, the xdk launcher automagically appeared .

So now my question is this: Does the "X3 3294 v16plus BIOS" that I currently have flashed in bank 1234 include a debug BIOS, which becomes active when setting the X3 Live Config change above? (This seems likely to me and would make the first response from DJBOOBY make a lot more sense than it did when I first read it).

Or - Does setting "Debug BIOS Mode = Enabled" in the "X3 Live Config" somehow allow be to run the 256K Yoshi's 1.6 debug BIOS which I also have flashed in bank 5?

Many, many thanks...

Yoshi's BIOS doesn't have anything to do with the X3 CL settings - that I know for sure.

I think the first instance is true for the debug mode.

Thanks for the validation.

The info from http://eng.utoledo.edu/~sharlow/X3_1959/#x3cl_configlive
was also helpful.

Note - I obviously had the solution all along. Where should I have been reading to have know that the X3 had a debug BIOS built in?

BTW - Martin: in your sig is a link to the "X3 N00b Guide"
at http://home.comcast.net/~x3guide/
The link is dead. Is the doc still available elsewhere? (Thanks!)

Now that I am past my debug BIOS issues I am now off to troubleshoot the XDK launcher hanging...

One last question: any recommendation for an appropriate forum to post xdk/config questions to?

I've just realised what you're trying to do. AFAIK, the XDK will only work on a 128MB Xbox. Your 1.6 cannot be upgraded and therefore you'll have problems.

In terms of BIOSes, have you tried the official MS debug BIOS from xbins?

Mission accomplished!

I just ran my first "Hello World!" on the xbox. Apparently the debug BIOS in the X3 does the trick. FYI - I am running XDK 5933 and Visual Studio.Net 2003.

Setup = complete;
Development = started;

Thanks++;

BTW - Booby: you spin vinyl? I keep my turntables right next to my xbox! (DJ-ANT)
