I want to swap out the HD for a larger one (120GB) and I'm having some problems. I was able to ftp to the box through EvoX with a crossed cable and by setting my comps NIC manually. (Although I could only see the drives when using Bulletproof FTP, and not FlashFXP like everyone seems to mention). I realize that to swap the drive you need to do it through the X3 menu but whenever I connect the box to my computer and enable DHCP on the xbox, I get 0.0.0.0 Err X at the bottom of the screen and not an IP address. The Static IP is set to 192.168.0.1 but that didn't work from my computer.

Does anyone have any ideas?

you need to set it on static on your xbox

e.g ip: 192.168.0.2
default gateway: 192.168.0.1

Don´t you have to set up windows ics when your doing it from pc to xbox or does it work fine by settings all the ip´s static like that? I was trying to do that with a friends box (he doesnt have a router) and i couldnt figure out how to enable ics and i coulnt get it to work after setting all the ips static like you guys been sayin. He has windows xp home with sp2 and i read on some site that it is not possible to setup ics on a pc with that version of xp.

oh im confused isn't he trying to ftp stuff using a crossover cable meaning that all he needs to do is set the static ip on his pc and xbox and plug the wire in (duh)
