ive noticed this, what does it do? OBV, it backs up the EEPROM, presumably onto the chip, but then what?

ive backed up my eeprom and various other things into a .txt file using the x3, do i have to use that feature?

i dont wanna d**k around with it, without knowing what it does, gives me the willies ;)

Your eeprom will be accessable via ftp, it will be in an EEPROMS folder. You can get a copy of it and store it on a pc for safe keeping. I would definatley advise you do that, I wish I could have on the box I am working with now..

Complete N00B question on this topic - I have just done the X3 1959 bios on a 1.0 'box. Therefore the prudent thing would be to backup the EEprom to the X3, correct? This way I can restore the EEprom if my mobo flakes? Just asking questions before I do this. I do not want to hose my Xbox due to my stupidity.
Next question - How to get the EEprom info onto the C: drive? Do you use Slayers 2.6 or is there a utility in the X3 Bios that I missed?
Thanks in advance!

In the x3 live config, go to eeprom tools>backup eeprom, then ftp to your xbox and look in the EEPROMS folder for eeprom.bin, ftp it to your pc. Please correct me if I am wrong on the menu options, lol, not in front of my xbox..

FredAnthony - you were right. It's in the EEprom folder. Worked like a charm. FTP'd in and grabbed the file.
Now - should my mobo flake, I would reflash the mobo EEprom with the backup from the X3, correct? And now for the seriously stupid question - what are the symptoms of a bad mobo EEprom? The standard MS dash doesn't load when you boot with the X3 disabled? Or does a leering image of Bill G pop up that laughs at you?
