put in a new drive tonight (40GB/WD/7200), all went smooth (appreciate the noob guide!). had everything set up and the last "test" i ran was to boot with the mod disabled. got the error code 5 (5 - kernel - HDD not locked (retail bioses require the hd to be locked)). searched the forums and read a post about using CofigMagic live. i have that app installed and was going to use it, but first checked out X3CL setting about locking. i saw that it had "hard drive lock:disable", so i enabled it and rebooted without mod. MS dash came up just fine.
wanted to confirm that this is all i'll have to do as far as locking the harddrive? should i leave the X3CL lock setting as enabled? is it normal after setting up a new drive with X3 to have to lock it also? (if so that should be added to the noobie guide)
