X3 fan

Do i need to install a fan if i modded my xbox with an X3? please let me know.

i dont think you ever opened your xbox or even saw pictures of the guts in the xbox have you......xbox comes stock with a 70mm fan running at 7v but the x3 bios will allow you to turn the power up from 7v to 12v (20% to 100%). Most modders do eventually buy new fans that are quiter, 80mm, and lighted in some way.

hmmm, i couldn't get my 80mm to fit in the box, probably cause it was free and loaded with leds.

you could use a dremel tool to help make it fit....

How about when upgrading the hdd to 160g do i NEED to install that 80mm fan? im sorry i just want to order everything at once. thanks for all the help

you could use a dremel tool to help make it fit....

i did use a dremel but it still was too big. If i cut it any more, it would have cut into the strip around the outside of the fan that had the circuitry for the LEDs
