Hey all,
Quick question, how do I use one bios to boot my regular dashboard (UnleashX set at xboxdash.xbe) and one to boot XBMC (set at default.xbe)? Both are in F root. I want to be able to switch between bios banks to do this.

Sorry if this is a noob question, its been a while since I have messed with the technicalities of bioses.

Thanks!
Krazy

Boot to X3 Config Live, the go to X3 Config Live > Quicklaunch. In there you can setup a path to your other Dash to launch when you hold the trigger on boot. When you boot and hold the trigger this will bypass your other dashboard boot priority.

Sorry, I should have specified. I didnt want to do a QuickLaunch, I wanted it to be bios based. I essentially want to switch banks between UnleashX and XBMC

No can do on the current version of the X3 BIOS, maybe it’ll be in the future. For now your options are the Quicklaunch (what’s so hard about holding the trigger on boot?), install the X2 BIOS on another bank (only for Xbox versions 1.0-1.5) or if you have a v1.6 install M8+ on another bank.

doing the quick launch will work like that.

Not something I have ever tried, but in theory you should be able to have two version of the X3 1959 bios loaded up, and switch between the banks ... the question is WHERE do the ConfigLive setings get stored? Onboard the chip in some type of NVRAM or on the HDD?

Hell, you have the chip if you don't want to go the Quicklaunch route, why don't you just try it out? The worst that can happen is that you will need to reconfigure ConfigLive.

Try it out and report back.
