Hi all.

I have flashed my VERSION 1 Xbox which has a prefectly installed X3 CE with the bios X3 3294. As so many other posts state but never solve The Xbox boots fine displays Xecuter splash screen and then defects to a black screen stating "NO xecuter3 Chip Detected!" most people used an old Bios and using 3294 has worked for them AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH WHY WON'T IT WORK !!!!???.

Please help if you can
Thanks in advance

HHmm

PS: I flashed via a DVD-R and as far as i can tell it worked fine !

The instructions are a little of the mark as when it says "press power and eject or hold power to change your x3 modes" what it actually means is turn off the Xbox and then turn it on by holding power and eject !.

I can get to my other flashable areas and the flash menus are there but i don't understand why its saying it can't see the chip. I don't want to flash the other areas until some wise man (or woman) tells me which one to use !.
As i said before every message i've read concerning this fault simply says use the latest bios and it works ! but i am using the latest bios !.
see if you can get into your other flashable areas using what i have said above ! if so then we are in the same boat and surely someone else has been through this !.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated ! :)

kind regards

Hi

Sorry what is config Live ?

I have checked all soldering and it is fine !

I will get the other BIOS now but how do you write over one you have already flashed ?, I could install it on one of the other flashable areas !, would that help ? (should i put it on the backup flash or the other free one, i have used the 2 meg one i think ! {pins on switch on on off off on} for the 3294 flash

Thanks

No i cant do anything. it wont go to backup still even if i press the buttons before its bowerd up it just powers up the xbox as norm. i have just used a evox bootdisk to get my xbox on my network so i can explore it and i realised it has a flash bios mod chip command so im going to save the lastest xecuter bios on to the cd and try to flash it that way to see if it makes a diffence.

hhmm: You can load flashbios on your 2nd 1mb bank, then flip the switch prior to flashing, back to your 1st 1mb bank. That is how you overwrite the bank that is already flashed.
And you can't overwite the backup through flashbios. If you boot to backup and flash, it still flashes the main bank (whichever one you have selected) and backup will remain flashbios.

Also you both said you've got flashprotect on (the last switch) you'll need that off for your next bios flashing attempt

ok so u suggest we have the switches in which order? and then try reflashing through the backup? thats cool for HHMN but i cant get into backup at all so im going to use the evox bootdisk to do it.
Im just poping out for a few hours but ill check on this thread when i get back and tell u how its gone with the evox bootdisk.

As stated in numerous post on bios flashing, your switch settings should be on,on,off, off, off if you want to flash the first 1Mb bank. Glad you got sorted just leaving info for others who may have the same issue hhmm.

so HHMM how exactly did u fix it because im still not getting any luck, i tired to flash it using the evox disk as its the only way i can get near to the chip and it says flash not writable. i still cant get into the chip backup! no matter what i press or when.
