X3 flashing problems?

Version 1.6

X3 with LPC rebuild. All lights on chip are fine, have both my voltage lights on.

When I first installed chip, flashbios screen came up. I flashed with 3294 and it rebooted and now nothing.

I am pretty sure that I did not use the right bios. When I downloaded it, it said to rename it to Bios.bin for the cd. I did, but should I have named it 3294 v16.bin for version 1.6?

Anyhow, I have checked all my soldering spots. Especially 13 and 14.

My hard drive I am using is not the original from this Xbox. I do not have the original.

I have also tried resetting by pressing the power and eject buttons at the same time.

Still just have blue screen and am fragging.

Anyone have any ideas?

Somewhere
Try botting to banks 5-8. There is flashbios 3.03 on those banks and it should let you flash it again. it sounds like you used the right bios, maybe your switch settings were wrong? It should be on on off off off.

What was the name of the BIOS originally?
What happens when you try to boot the backup BIOS?

I'm having the exact same problem and tried to boot from 5 and 8 banks. Using
for bank 5, UP/UP/DOWN/UP/DOWN and bank 8, DOWN/DOWN/DOWN/UP/DOWN.

What I believe is somehow these banks were overwritten when I did the initial bios upload with the settings of UP/UP/DOWN/DOWN/DOWN as was stated.

Since I'm running version 1.6B the backup bios will not boot up for some reason even though I was initially able to boot the 3.01 bios on my bank 1.

I was initially able to boot correctly with 3.01 the default bios on my chip. After I upgraded I was no longer able to boot up. I then switch to another bank and was able to boot up, but now nothing works.

Is it possible I erased all the banks by booting into them? I initially did the UP/UP/DOWN/DOWN/DOWN install. When this did not work I proceeded to switch to another BANK and was initially able to boot up. Now the only boot up that works is when I disable the chip by holding down the RESET button and boot into the default XBOX bios.

When I try to hold both RESET and TRAY open buttons to access the "SAFETY" bios, I just FRAG.

What's all this UP/DOWN business???

The switches are either on or off.

If you flashed an X3 BIOS, then you're either booting from banks 1234 1024k or 5678 1024k.

You'll know if the backup BIOS is selected if the X3 Logo goes purple. If this isn't happening, you're not pressing the buttons correctly - try again.

First of all, try telling us your switch settings in terms of ON or OFF. UP and DOWN are relative to how you have positioned you switch.
You should be booting from banks 1-2-3-4 or 5-6-7-8. Not 5 and 8. Check out the X3 Noob guide for more help on your switches.
If you can only boot from 3.01, and you've wiped it, then you need to find someone who can reflash your chip for you.

Once you've flashed the chip with the X3 BIOS, the Xbox Flubber screen loads and instead of the Microsoft logo, the Xecuter Rox my Box logo appears, followed by the X3 Config Live screen.

Will you make your mind up? I've just found another thread you started about this where you say you have a 1.6a Xbox.

http://teamxecuter.entryhost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33997

You're now hijacking others threads which is not tolerated. I would usually delete them but didn't realise you were doing this.

If you start a thread about something, stick to it. Don't go hijacking others!
