X3 Flashing Problems

I have installed my modchip appropriately (triple checked it) and while trying to flash the bios, the status bar got about 1/3 of the way complete and then locked up. I let it sit for about 5 minutes, while nothing happened, before shutting off my XBOX. Now all it will do is FRAG. I have tried a couple of tricks I've seen in other forums, such as holding down the power & eject button for >1 seconds and I've also tried holding down the white & black buttons on the controller. Neither solution worked. Can someone please help?

First of all, you shouldn't be doing a mod. You are not l33t and you are a n00b. You need to be able to know how to solder the chip to the board right, my suggestion would be to go return your little game machine to walmart, get a new one, and make your parents proud and not waste more money. You probably fried the chip. Take the money hit and move on.

First off, master jackass, my friend who has successfully modded several XBOX's that have required soldering did mine for me. And the chip isn't fried, otherwise it wouldn't have booted the first time. You're so smart, you should take your head out of your ass and think before you respond next time.

well now you will prolly need 2 boot into the backup, done by pressing power and eject at the same time 2 turn on the machine, that will give u back FlashBIOS for another try at it, are you sure you have ur switches set right? i myself cannot remember what they need 2 be, but I'll see if I can dig it up b4 som1 beats me 2 it

You probably did one of the following wrong:

1) touched a flat head screwdriver on two metal pieces
2) split beer in the xBox
3) didn't read the instructions
4) bought a crappy soildering iron.
5) don't how how to flash anything right

walmart customer service will help

Casper, thanks for the help. I'm pretty sure the switches are set correctly, but I will try to double-check that. If you find anything, please let me know.

Mod"masta"... I appreciate your extremely intelligent sarcasm, but next time maybe you can use a spell checker because I know I didn't "split beer in the xBox". All 5 of your last comments are incorrect. If you have nothing useful to tell me, please don't post here. Thanks.

Congratulations, ModMasta. I'm happy for you. Now leave me alone so I can get mine working.

Okay, so I have the BIOS installed and going. Now I'm having problems installing the EvoX dashboard. I was initially trying to install version 2.5, but over the weekend while I was out of town I DLed version 2.6. I have not had a chance to try 2.6, but anyone have any ideas why 2.5 wouldn't work?

First off, Go Boilers!

I do not know why 2.5 wouldn't work, but I grabbed EvolutionX Build 3935 off of xbins and it works good. I have since switched to avalaunch, and seem to like it better.

How are trying to install? CD or ftp?

Twisted, I finally got my BIOS installed. I believe the problem was a combination of wrong dip switch configs & a corrupted BIOS. So, I referred to the link Totalled told me about and downloaded the BIOS again and it worked fine. You may want to try to get the new BIOS that just came out. Here is the link for the dip switches:

What kind of FTP client are you using, it might be as simple as that WSFTP, SmartFTP, LeechFTP, FlashFXP, WUFTP?

Ski23man, did you install your dashboard via FTP? If so, FlashFXP is the program I typically use for FTP transfers.
