First of all, you shouldn't be doing a mod. You are not l33t and you are a n00b. You need to be able to know how to solder the chip to the board right, my suggestion would be to go return your little game machine to walmart, get a new one, and make your parents proud and not waste more money. You probably fried the chip. Take the money hit and move on.

peace noob

l33t master of mods..

Re: flashing liteon drive

If there's something wrong with your Xbox 360's DVD drive, especially if it's just the firmware that's messed up - then that shouldn't prevent your Xbox 360 from booting up. You should at least get some sort of error message. Also, if you didn't erase or write to the drive then it should work fine. Please post some more information on what you did...

Re: flashing liteon drive

i went by the design of the dvd tray.it looked exactly like a benq.i hooked up my drive to my via 6421 sata card and i booted up from my usb with iprep and dosflash.i typed in dben and my reg numbers.hit y to resend the mtk vendor intro.turned the xbox on and got the status toggling between 0x51 and 0xd1 then i shut it down and got a solid 0xd1then i turned it on and didnt get a good drive status of 0x73.i did this a few times but then on my last attemp i hit fben by accident and my reg numbers and it gave me an error.thats when i decided to look a little closer at my drive and discovered it was a liteon .i never got to the point of erasing and writing the firmware.when i put it back together it booted a little and then flickered and kept doing this.when i took the drive out it booted up all the way and was fine.

Jungle Flasher Basic User Guide v1.0b said:
This will release a drive from Vendor Mode and send ATA Reset to the Drive.
Read the Jungle Flasher tutorial to figure out how to flash your LiteOn drive. Then try to flash your drive using Jungle Flasher (you still need to use the probe).

Re: flashing liteon drive

You can use the connectivity kit or the Xbox 360 to power the drive, it doesn't matter. You do not need to use the probe for this, but make sure the drive is connected to your PC/VIA card (with a SATA cable - and turned on). Go through all the I/O ports until you find your drive. In the drive properties area you should see this:

You can also try turning off your PC, connecting your drive, then turning your PC back on (with the drive connected and powered on before you boot your PC).

However, if you cannot detect your drive - it may be that your drive is not actually in vendor mode and your problem lies somewhere else. Go through the Jungle Flasher tutorial and try to flash your LiteOn drive again from the beginning. You may also try other programs to flash your LiteOn, like DosFlash 1.8 (or you can try iPrep again).
