The connectivity kit has nothing to do with the drives connection to the pc . That is thru a sata cable .
The connectivity kit is for power and eject/mode b functions only . Off course the probe when connected with the CK3 is for key extraction .

But NO connectivity kit has anything to do with having your drive recognised apart form the power ONLY .

NO . unless there is something wrong with the xbox "power wise" and your drive is not getting any power then in that case the connectivity kit will help .
But im assuming your xbox turns on and powers your drive . You did say it doesnt boot up so im not sure exactly what is happening when you have the drive in your xbox .

Does the Xbox completely turn off, or does the screen just flicker? And the drive opens and closes properly?

Is the LiteOn drive you put into your 360 taken apart (metal case removed)? If it is, it could be that the drives PCB/motherboard is touching the Xbox 360's motherboard and causing problems.

Did you make sure the drive is hooked up properly to the Xbox 360? SATA cable and power cable hooked up well. Cables are not damaged? Make sure you don't hook up the drives power cable the wrong way around - it will cause some serious damage.

Check the Xbox 360's motherboard to see if something on it is damaged or loose (especially near the area where the drive would go).

I am not entirely sure why the 360 would work fine without the drive but would not work with the drive.

Also, are you buying just the connectivity kit, or are you getting the probe with it too? Because you need the probe to get the key that is required to flash the LiteOn drive.

Re: flashing liteon drive

sounds like the drives casing is touching the mobo either that or you have a defective sata/power lead

Re: flashing liteon drive

When you say that the xbox starts flickering, do you mean that the center of the power button is flickering or something else?
