Ok so I installed my brand new shiny X3 into my brand new shiny Xbox. I have a 1.6MB. Installed the pin header the jumpers and everything. Ohmed out the pin header to points on the motherboard to ensure that everything was making good contact. Well much to my dissapointment my brand new shiny Xbox when turning it on, turns it-self off and on a couple of times and frags. I didn't replace the the original HD was waiting to make sure everything went ok. Removed everything and won't boot to the M$ Dash. Put everything back in still no help. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. XBox manufacture date is 2004-09-20.

Make sure that your front switches are ON ON OFF OFF OFF
If it still wont boot to BIOS after this, it's wholly possible that you have the wrong BIOS on the X3 - the 1.6B version Xbox that you have needs the 3.0.3 version of the BIOS to work nad from what I see on these forums, a lot of the X3's are still being sold with the 3.0.0. or 3.0.1 version - which wont work.
Try the switches also in the OFF ON OFF OFF OFF config and also try the backup 256kb BIOS - these may be the correct versions.
All this, making sure that the Flash protect is OFF on the chip and the front panel.
Also check the Stickys in the Flash bios section etc

I've tried it with the config of ON ON OFF OFF OFF with the same effect. I'll give it a shot the other way then see if there's anything I can do to reflash this chip to the 3.0.3 bios.
Roger that Nick bot led's are turning on on the X3 and I can get the LED's on the dip switch indicator on the outside of the box to change like they should. Just nothing happens.
