hey guys...i just installed my first chip...i got it in but when loading flashbios i get frag. lan, hd lights work. both blue lights are lit up on the chip. switches are in 1on 2on 3off 4off position. backup bios frags as well. ms bios loads fine (although it keeps going to the clock setting).I have a 1.0 xbox and I am pretty sure its my soldering as I don't have a lot of soldering experience. I guess my question is how should I go about checking. my d0 point seems good and sturdy. my lpc pin header joints look "ok". I was afraid to get too much solder on them so some are not completely covered (like on the install guide on the site). How much solder is too much? please excuse the noobish questions. I just really want to be able to do this myself rather than have someone else do it for me....but I dont want to ruin the xbox.

thanks

How much is too much.... Basically, you want to see a nice "cone" of solder.
like in this picture. And it should be shiny....

And use a very thin soldering iron, not a big one.

You do not touch the solder to the soldering iron. You touch the pins with the soldering iron then you touch the other side of the pin with the solder.

Found this on the net kind of short but gives some of the points that were given here on a good solder joint. Hope this helps!!
