x3 ftp feature no workie!

just installed a new 180 gig into a 1.4 box with a x3 in it build 1959. nothing on hdd, it is partitioned using x3 disk utility. trying to ftp into to put dash on it, can login to hdd, but cannot put any files on it. Says I dont have access user/pass is x3. WTF?

what exactly does the dialog box say in your FTP client?

in the ftp client, it says that it doesnt have the correct permissions to transfer the files which is weird. I used the slayers install disk to get a dash on there and I used that dash to ftp in and get the rest of my files on there. Its just really annoying that I had to use that damn slayers disc. oh well, at least its working. Maybe the x3 crew can look into that so other people dont have this problem? I have noticed a couple other people with this same issue. Thanks

whoa!!!

If you've loaded to a dashboard, then the X3 FTP isn't being used!!

The X3 FTP is only from te X3CL screen.

Your username/password from a normal evox / avalaunch dashboard will be xbox/xbox.

nono, Im saying before I installed a dash, that was the problem, I couldnt ftp and install a dash, thats why I had to use the dumb slayers install disc, i wanted to just ftp in and install my dash of choice. I was logging in when the hdd was blank as stated in my first post. I used the x3/x3 as username/pw to login. Problem was same as above. I just got around it by installing slayers(yuck)

1. make sure you are using xbox-to-router-to-computer connection
OR use a xbox-to-crossover cable -to-pc connection
2. make sure when you go into X3 bios, you have an FTP assigned with a proper gateway address
3. make sure your using an FTP client and not MS Exploder, and make sure your going through Port 21
4. USE FTP CLIENT SOFTWARE FILEZILLA or FlashFXP, move the files in the interface.......dont drag and drop outside of window

I have just installed evox. I was able to ftp to the bios, but I cannot login to evox. When I try xbox/xbox as the username/password I get:

502 pasv is not implemented.

What is the username/password? thanks

ok, copy your IP settings in that match your bios

user evox, password xbox...............change it between capital and lowcase letter, I dont use evox (IMO it sucks), make sure to use port 21.

on the bottom it says listing directory then just hangs
what should i do









never mind fixed my problem
i was trying to ftp from my laptop wich was on wireless
for some reason it was acting very slow and thus would timeout
when i did it over ethernet it worked fine

I couldn't get a directory listing until I unlocked my HD in the config live under "disk tools". Hope that helps

NEED HELP

Today while i was installing an LT switch, i kept messing up and having to take it off. Eventually almost all of traces were pulled out. Is there someone i can send my pcb board to for them to read the flash chip, so i can get my key, or do i have to throw away my brand new elite???

Ive never done it but I believe you can jtag the motherboard and get your key that way
