X3 FTP not letting me Transfer Files

When in X3 and trying to transfer files I get an error that states that that file/folder already exists and asks if I want to overwrite the file. There is no file/folder on there with the same name. When you try to overwrite there is an error and it won't let you copy anything. This is the 2nd xbox I've seen do the exact same thing. What causes this, and how do I get around it?

Thanks

Xbox - 1.6
Bios - X3
Dash - Evolution-X

I have this exact same problem. I have tried using numerous clients, include CuteFTP Home, SmartFTP, built-in Window FTP client, and the standard Linux based FTP client. It seems that the FTP server fails to change remote directories after going one level deep.

I had this problem when using CuteFTP, but I'm pretty sure that FlashFXP will work.

Honestly the easiest way to fix this is to make a EvoX disk and just load that.

I figured it out. I used the web interface to flash the chip. Going back and re-flashing it from a CDr fixes this probelm.

try using a different dashboard for FTP. Honestly, the evox FTP sucks, Avalaunch is better, but I have had the best luck with XBMC's FTP.

He's using the X3's ftp, not a dash.

Saw that and figured he was using evox. I've never had good luck with the X3's FTP server, I think its just that CuteFTP doesn't work right with the X3, but if you use FlashFXP, you should be fine. If you can't get FlashFXP to work, try using internet explorer. Type this into your internet explorer address bar...
ftp://x3:[email protected]
example:
ftp://x3:[email protected]

I had the same problem, I could see the folders in X3 but I couldn't write more than a file. I couldn't write folders on my HD.
I toyed with it for awhile then I ended up using Evox, workes great. Now each time I want to FTP I just use Evox. I FTP from internet explorer.

I did do my Bios upgrade using the web interface, that might be the problem...

I hear you, but why the web interface downloaded Bios would cause problem with the FTP???

Not a big deal for me as I use Evox and it works perfect with FTP.

I don't know why that would make a differnce. But I corrected the problem on 2 seperate xboxs by doing it like this.

I haven't had that specific problem, but I have had an issue where sometimes I transfer a file to the xbox with x3's ftp but the file isn't there. It goes through all the motions of transferring data but then upon checking that folder on the xbox it's empty.
