We just thought we would post our X3 Install Experiance here
as a some help for those looking for Possible Answers.
V1.0 NTSC Xbox, Conexent Video
Had some difficulties removing all the solder from the holes, trying to attach header pin using iron to heat up pins to push through, worked well ,
This unfortunately resulted in a burnt trace
(The one where pin 4 should be and runs parrallel to the even pins)
Result for Xbox : Fragged whether X3 was in or not.
Ran a Repair wire from pin 5 all the way to another via where it meets near IDE, this fixed xbox and resulted in xbox booting normally
Next My buddy decided to clean up the Repair wire and inadvertantly made contact between pins 5 and 3 in the process of soldering the wire back to pin 5.
Result for Xbox : Fragged with X3 Enabled and in,
However it booted normally without X3 or X3 disabled, but had the Solid green/No Audio/Video/No eject problem
After checking with a multimeter my buddy found his error and removed the 3/5 pin bridge, now the xbox boots normally and like it should both with chip enabled and disabled.
