x3 install, v1.6, no lan light, red x logo

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and have spent the last hour trying to read up and find my problem in previous threads.

However, I haven't found anything that explains exactly what my situation is so hopefully somebody can help me out. (or point me in the right direction)

I just installed an X3 using the tutorial from this website. When I try to turn it on, the X logo is red and the xbox tries to turn on 3 times before going to the familiar red X logo and blinking red/green eject button. Does this mean a solder point is messed up? One thing to note is that the blue HD light in the upper right corner is lit, but the LAN light in the upper left corner is not lit.

Is the LAN solder point messed up? Is my xbox "FRAG"ing? Is there some configuration that the on/off switches need to be in?

Sorry about all the noobish questions, I'm very new to all of this and I've tried my best to familiarize myself in the forums. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i re-soldered everything. i know, it sucks, but you just have to do it.

also, on a side note. i ran into the FRAG problems again after i flashed the bios with a 256k bank. you have to have the switch settings correct to fix that problem.
