I sent my xbox in like a month ago to modchipman.com to put in the x3, it came back yesterday, but won't even turn on. Is there anything simple I can do or try? It's been so long I don't even care about the modding anymore, just my xbox working will do. THanks for your help.

go to #modchipman on EFnet irc for support they should get your xbox working seeing you've paid for it, if it makes no sounds whatsoever after pressing power its a f**ked psu or the power button isnt connected on the mainboard or some other thing but get the ppl in #modchipman to guide you through it you didnt pay them for nothing

damn thats pretty stupid. You sent in your xbox to have it moded and the guy didnt even do it correctly let alone test it to makes sure it was done properly. thats a shame. you should ask for your money back or atleast get the money you spent on them modding it (excluding the price of chip).

you're getting redirected?

www.modchipman.com

thats odd..

JonHaven, did we already discuss a return on your system? to check whats wrong

and honestly, all systems go through 24-48 hours of testing.. we leave em on for a few hours at a time, then play some, let it run.. so on.. for usually 1-2 days... any type of damage done in shipping, of course we can't help.. that happens.. but we're always willing to take care of any problems.. as long as you actually contact us... http://support.modchipman.com

Hard drive swapping between consoles

Ok, I know that playing backed up games online is risky. But if I were to play a backed up game, save games, and gain achievements offline and went online by swapping the hard drive to an unaltered console, can MS tell I played the game on a flashed unit and ban either of the consoles?

---I moved this from the beginners section---

If the game has been released in the shops you should fine, also make sure the modded console aint banned or you will corrupt your hdd.

Re: Hard drive swapping between consoles

Just a follow up. What if I install DLC from a backup with the same technique? Should I not use the hard drive in the unmodded 360 until I delete the DLC, or will it be fine?

You can't swap DLC between consoles, DLC only works on consoles they were purchased on. Unless you transfer the license, which can be done once a year,
So what if I flashed the dvd drive and re-flashed to stock after installing? Would they be able to detect that it was installed from a back-up disk?

DLC's only work on the original console that it was downloaded to online or offline. DLC's will work on any console as long as your Gamer-tag is signed into xbox live.

So I can install the dlc from the expansion pack disk, use it on other consoles as long as i am signed in, and ms can't tell that it wasn't purchased?

That will do absolutely nothing, DLC ONLY works with the console it was bought on (exceptions with Jtags). However I am not sure on discs with extra content, but I'm guessing the same goes for that as well.

You can install content (DLC only refers to downloads, not discs) onto the hard drive with a back up disc, they won't be able to detect it was installed from a modded drive.
