X3 installed on 1.6, Video problem

I have the X3 installed on a 1.6 xbox,
I get the flash Bios screen, I flash the bios and when i boot up I get no video, just a black screen and a blue light on the X3 switch.
I have a 120gb unformated HD in the xbox?
any Idea's.
If I have a red X on the X3 switch it boots to the M$ logo and says to call tech support, I know thats because of the HD, it is blank

Play DVD

After i burn a backup, and i tried with img burn and xbc, i put the game dvd into my 360. The 360 says Play DvD, but doesnt read the game name, and when i start it it goes to a big white xbox 360 screen. Any ideas on what i could be doing wrong?

im using the pioneer 111d that you guys say to use to burn. I guess going to pioneer website would be the best place to upgrade the firmware or is there a better place to the update?
