x3 installed with pro switch need help flashing.

I just got done installing my x3 with the xapterand I get the good blue light, now it's asking me to flash the bios. Where do i get the bios froma nd what do I need to set the pros witches to? Please help....

1st find and read the sticky on this forum that defines X3 switches and bank settings

2nd read the tutorial in my signature for accessing xbins, that's where you get your bios.

Got a bios...X3_3294 need more help

Ok, I got into xbins and got a new bios. X3_3294

Extracted the bin and added it to a DVD. IT will not read the disk, tried DVD and Cd both. I know I had to rename ite file to Bios, and it still wont read the disk. Can you give me more help ?

If it can't read the disk it is probably the media type causing trouble. Try burning it to a different brand of disc. Other option is to flash your chip via http. Have you hooked an xbox up to your computer before?

this it my 2nd box. I ftp into my other one all the time.
how do you hook it up to my pc?

do you want me to take it out of my xbox and use a usb adapter to place the bios on the xbox drive?
I have a ide to usb adapter

No, just hook this xbox up the same as you do your other xbox! Once that's done click the A button on flash via http on your xbox. Wait for the xbox to assign you an IP address (may take a couple of minutes)

Then instead of using FTP open internet explorer and type
http://(ip address provided by xbox)

HTTP flashing...

I hooked it up to my lan and was able to see the XBOX, I think that my flash protect is on. When I boot the box up it had question marks.

I'm gonna take it apart again tonight...

Ok, i made a disk, because the http was not working, although i did see the flash screen
it just sat there forever...

now the thing is saying no bios update found. Making????
Looks like making.. its a littel fuzzy, any help here

well well well, I finnaly got it, howerver Now how the heck do i install slayer.
I set it to boot from disk but it wont, how do you place a dashboard on the disk now???

If you've got the X3 bios installed you should be accessing X3Config Live. FTP to your box just like you did the other xbox now. FTP the dashboard onto your C drive.

I finnaly got it, the switch was on protected on the chip itself, Boy, do i feel stupid. I never did get slayer installed on that hd, I used the hd out of my old box, worked just fine. Thanks for the help buddy. You rock...
