do you have any lights on the external switch if so are any of the leds on the chip itself active?

I have the same problem... solder-wise, everything is good but when I turn it on, it is as if no mod chip is installed. The light on the switch doesn't turn on. HELLLLPP....

there are two blue leds on the chip, confirm both are on visually on the mobo without the dvd or hd. don't just look through the side vents.

I have a similar problem. When my d0 was bad, I at least got the front panel lighting up and colored red, to show it was not booting from modchip. Now, randomly after weeks of working, my box boots normally (or tries to, since it doesn't have the original harddisk and my new one doesn't have the original files) and the front panel does not light up at all (no red X, no HDD\LAn Activity lights). Any ideas why it's doing this?

Yeah.. from Sticky.. I think my d0 is bad.. resoldered 4 times.. same thing.. at least my HD led works but it just boot normally. I posted a new thread to fine advice on how I should solder.

If the switch on front has no lights at all, make sure that the pins on the chip do not get bent when connecting the cable form the switch. if this happens the chip will become extremely hot. take care when connecting this wire, do not force it.

Good call on the pins being bent; I corrected this, but I still get no external lighting on the switch. Any other ideas?

Also, any idea how I've been using this for like 3 weeks without any problems (literally was using it the night before) and now it just suddenly stops working?

It seems that my pin 15 soldering job was not quite good enough. I found that it was not a solid connection, resoldered, and the problem was solved. I guess it was just barely making contact before (enough to work) and after getting moved around, tapped, etc, it came loose. Oh well, I'm glad it's back to normal.
