X3 IR install

Has anyone been able to successfully install the X3 IR mod into a system with the Xecuter 2.6 Lite? I've read that the x3 ir "Works with ANY mod chip"

But from looking at the installation documents, (provided on the same page) it shows an extra connection made to the xecuter3 mod chip that the 2.6 doesn't have.

Ideas?

I wondered about that too... So is there anything like the x3ir that's out there that might work with my xecuter 2.6 ? (xbox is v1.6a)

well you can install with other chips and no chip at all
