Box has been running tops for 2 years...got off the couch last night to power down and ZAP! Static electricity...heart sank and was confirmed...on reboot nothing but MS DASH.

X3 does not enale now. I can get to FlashBIOS 3.03 (only by pushing power/eject at the same time) but it does not recognize X3 anymore.

I get this: http://www.team-xecuter.com/flashbios/flash_protected.jpg

I have tried to disconnect the switches, tried to HTTP a 1MB X3, and I have quadruple checked the protect switch.
I always get the "unknown...halting" error. I know this is because the chip is not detected by FlashBIOS, not because of a wrong bios.bin (I'm using latest 1MB X3).

I have two blue and one red LED, and FlahBIOS loads.... so install is still functional.

Did the static shock fry the 2MB on-board flash?
Did the power/eject board fry?

Oh, yes, I have a X3 Control Panel with LCD as well....

Can anyone help me out or am I completely stuffed?

Thank you.

have you tryed removing x3 power eject board as well as bios switch then seeing if xbox boots
Yes. I tried both. Boots to MS Dash.

I even tried to Hot Swap another X3. I then ran X3Flash and it tells me there is not X3 found.

I swapped in a known working X3 with my existing power/eject wiring and LCD wiring - it all works.

So, the chip msut be bad. I guess?

I have the same problem with two different chips and nothing seems to get them going. I know its the chips because if I put another one in its place no problems. If any one has any suggestions please let us know. Thanks in advance.

My board does the exact same thing. My board is 1.6V. I have lost my bios totally. I looked at the power switch board for blow outs and found nothing.:(
