X3 LCD no backlight help please ?

hey iv got an X3 works just fine, has nor porblems... but my X3 LCD in my X3CP has no backlight i swapped it for another one and same thing... i swapped chips and still the same thing...
i can read the lcd it has words and such but no backlighting, is there a possibilty some solder point on the LPC hgeader is bad and that the chip would work but not the LCD ?

did you adjust the wheel on the x3 chip?
and set the contrast in x3cl?

One thing I did is to put some elec. tape on the back of
the xlcd, because it comes really close to the metal of
the case.
