X3 LCD not working

Hey guys i just got an X3 LCD and i plugged it all in and i get nothing on the lcd its as if it doesnt boot up. Any ideas on what i can do?

Does it matter wat end of the cord goes where?

Have you checked the basics. Have you enabled the LCD option in X3 live setup and has the manual contrast wheel on the chip itself been adjusted (i personally turned my wheel to full and then adjusted the settings in X3 live). I did this with mine and it works great
As far as the cord goes I think it's the same size at both ends, I didn't have a problem with that (unless I just got lucky first time?) and I haven't seen such a specific in any instructions.

nope bothe ends are the same. And do what dommurray says, check the bios and the wheel on the chip.

What Xbox to Buy?

So my old (2006) xbox died a rrod death on Sunday. I tried to revive her, but it's not happening. My question is, what is the best xbox to buy right now? I see the slims are prevalent, I think I can also get my hands on a Pro or an Arcade.

I don't play live. I want to play my backups. And I think I might get a Kinect. I like the idea of the wifi in the slim, but I already have wired network to my tv, so it's not a big deal if I don't have it. I mostly just want an easy box to mod the firmware, and confidence that I will be able to do so in the future.

Thoughts? Thanks. Also, any deals you know of?

Personally, If I were ever to buy a brand new 360, I would get a slim hands down. The reasoning behind this is, they're not hacked yet but will be very soon, and they say they don't red ring/red dot very often, so it'd be good to have a system that dosn't die on you eventually. lol

If you absolutly must have an xbox 360 to mod, I'd buy a broken one off the streets for 30 bucks and fix it myself (that's why I have like 6 360's right here lol) but if you're not confident enough to do that, maybe buy one from a pawnshop for cheap, or EB games (or as you americans call it, gamestop, lol )

Find you a cheap Elite (JASPER CHIPSET) and then flash it.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards the elite. Acester, I take you're point about the probable reliability benefits, but to me the new security features are too much of an unknown. I've worked on satellite modding, and I know that in these types of modding/security arms races you're almost always better to get the older model if it has the same features because you never know what the other side has up their sleeve with new hardware.

ps. I'm in Canada too.
