I have finished soldering my X3 to my Xbox. Its the newest X-box, got it for christmas. (I think thats version 1.6). When i re-connect everything to my X-box and hit the power button, guess what, a blue light comes on for about 1 second, then turns off again. If i hold the power button the light stays on for the whole time i hold the button, then turns off again after i release. The X-box never turns on, just the light.

If i take the Chip off the headers the x-box works fine, but once i connect the chip all i get is this light.

Honestly im guess im gonna get alot of replies saying check your soldering, but i redid this seriously over 5 times, ive had my friend try soldering from scratch and my dad who is an expert at soldering. same deal everytime. Can someone please help me out, or narrow down what my problem is. Only one Blue light.

Only 1 blue light?

It's your soldering.

Get your Dad to check voltages on pins 9 and 15. they should both be 3.3v. Also, make sure the 5v alternate wire is fixed in place.

Remove the external switch wire for now - it's not needed at this point if you're just testing the chip.

Finally, get your dad to check for a short on the power/eject board.

Yes - absolutely.

Obtaining the correct voltages on those pins is just to make sure you get both LEDs up. It's a start.

If it still doesn't work, then the other LPC points will need to be checked too.

K, we checked the volatges on pin 15 and 9 with the mod chip disconnected. pin 15 came up with 3.3v pin 9 has 0. Do you have to have the mod chip plugged in to be able to check the voltage on pin 9, for it does not look like anything is connecting to pin 9.

The other wire is fine, its showing 5v

No - these voltages should be there all the time.
