Hey guys,

I just installed an x3 onto a v 1.0 xbox - successfully, because I had everything up and running properly at one point. However, after trying to copy several files over in X3CL, I was confronted by an EEPROM flash screen, where the system froze. Since then, I have been unable to get the system running at all with the chip OFF. When its on, however, it is fully functional. Have I fried the EEPROM on the XB MoBo? Please help!

The xbox dash files ARE on the hdd ... i think its an EEPROM issue. There is no Error Code - the hdd works. It just doesn't boot when the chip is OFF.

have you locked the HD. with the chip off, you need the drive locked to boot MsDAsh. Hope this helps.

Drunknmunkie, you are right , the hard drive does need to be locked, but that would not prevent the xbox from booting with the chip off. It would only display error 5 and stop there.

How to power Internal HDD (for 360 hard drive hacking)

What should I use to power the HD so I can flash it to use for xbox?
