X3 on 1.6 can't boot backup bios for me

My first X3 CE installation. I used the LPC rebuild on the 1.6 box. Put in my pinheader properly and got the chip to boot to the flashbios.

I used the web interface to upload the bios, but I hadn't disabled the flash protect. So I got an error when flashing. So I cut it off, switched the chip to unprotect so that the light on the chip was red. Cut it back on and boots 3 times and frags.

Thought maybe (somehow?) it could have been a bad flash. Tried to boot by pressing power and eject at the same time. The box comes on and the switch LED turns purple, but then it reboots two more times and frags.

No matter what I'm trying this damn thing frags. So I took the LPC rebuild off and used the wire rebuild method. Everything lights up like the chip is installed properly but it still frags.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Maybe I did flash it wrong some sort of way, but it said that it couldn't flash..........so I'm baffled

what was your switch settings (if you were even using one) at the time of the flash and also after the flash have you tried checking the other banks to see if you still frag?

1-on
2-on
3-off
4-off
5-off

I printed off the picture of all the different settings for the switch and went through each one of them with no success. Although it's displaying symptoms of a bad flash, I technically did not flash the chip, since the flash protection on the modchip it self was enabled. Unless something screwy is going on with it?

When you did the wire install did you use this install diagram:
I meant that I did the LPC rebuild using the wires. I hadn't even though about using the wire harness. Maybe I will give that a shot tonight when I get home. In the mean time, is there anything else you can think of for me to check out.

Thanks

Ok, I started over and re-wired from scratch using the method given by Vyrus.

I've put another mod chip in and it will boot fine from it. When I put the X3 in it does the frag as explained before.

I still can't get the backup bios to load.

When installing the chip the first time on the pin header, I had to kinda twist the modchip a little to make all it's lights come on. I was guessing there was a weak connection between the chip and pinheader. So when I realized that twisting it was making it work, I held it in place and started the xbox and got the cromwell flash bios. That's when I wasn't able to flash it and rebooted with the frag.

Ever since that one time booting to cromwell I haven't been able to get it to boot again even with twisting the modchip.

I guess it's possible I may have damaged the chip doing this? Or maybe made the connection weaker?

Any more help would be very appreciated.

Thanks
