X3 On 1.6 Is Fragging, Detailed Forensics Inside - Need help

I've installed a pin header on a 1.6 (non b version) for an X3 install. I soldered everything according to the install pic on teamxecuter's website, and after several resolders I could not get pin 9 to produce a voltage. I checked the smartxx install diagram and they had pin 9 jumpered over to another location on the board so I went with that. What I have now is the following.

D0
Chip turned on with short power-on = Red LED on X3 front panel and it frags.
Chip turned off with long power on, Blue LED on X3 front panel - boots to M$ dashboard.
Chip turned on with Both power and eject = Purple LED on X3 front panel on first boot, alternates red/blue on 2nd and 3rd boot - boots to M$ dashboard
If I understand correctly, this tells me that d0 is working

5v Chip LED and 3.3 volt chip LED
Both light up when chip is active.

LAN/HD
Both light up and show activity when chip is active.

Pins and voltages
Pin 1 - Supposed to be < 1volt according to the lpc troubleshooting guide, i'm getting a high voltage # (8-10 volts). Not sure what to think of this. It's a clean solder with no over-solder anywhere.
Pin 2 - 0 Volts - Ground (Tested OK by hooking black to it and checking a 3.3 pin)
Pin 3 - 0 Volts - Says that this is LFRAME and is disconnected in v1.3 xboxes and newer - is this true?
Pin 4 - NO PIN
Pin 5 - 3.3 Volts
Pin 6 - NO PIN
Pin 7 - 3.3 Volts
Pin 8 - 3.3 Volts
Pin 9 - 3.3 Volts
Pin 10- 3.3 Volts
Pin 11- 3.3. Volts
Pin 12- 0 Volts - Ground (Tested OK by hooking black to it and checking a 3.3 pin)
Pin 13- 3.3 Volts
Pin 14- 3.3 Volts
Pin 15- 3.3 Volts
Pin 16- NO PIN

As far as I can tell this should all be OK barring no other issues. The LPC troubleshooting guide lacks 1.6 information so I had to piece a bit together. I can't confirm whether or not Pin 3 is a problem, and the high voltage on Pin 1 had me scratching my head a bit for it's supposed to be .2 according the LPC troubleshooting page.

Anybody have any ideas?

Re: X3 On 1.6 Is Fragging, Detailed Forensics Inside - Need

OK, found one problem - there was a pinched 3.3v lead that kept getting grounded under the mobo when I screwed it down. Fixed that problem and the high voltage on the clock went down to .4v which is in line with others' readings.

All other info stays the same. Is it possible that the chip getting the high voltage on PIN 1 would have caused the chip to respond like this?

Problem resolved - The shorted wire in the previous post was the issue, at some point between fixing the short and retesting, the Hard Drive Data cable had come loose. Plugged it back in and voila!

X3 is now rockin my 1.6!

NEW to modding, can you get banned from live by:

I want to mod my Xbox 360, but im wondering about getting banned from live.

Now for live i might only play 1 or 2 games online(NHL 10/11 or MW2 or HALO REACH). Im wondering, if I play the backups of those games offline, by myself, then rent the game and play the legit game online on the same profile, will my console/profile get banned?

Im also wondering if say I play backups on one profile (and this is offline) and I make a seperate profile for playing the real, legit games, and I occasionally go online on this profile, will I still get banned.

What does getting banned do? Obviously you cant play live anymore, but can you still get game/system updates and stuff? Can you still play offline, or does it render your Xbox 360 useless, and you would only be able to play dvds. OR would you still be able to play offline but you would lose all game data such as game progress and stuff like that?

if your are talking about having to rent it to play the original! then you are talking piracy - Which Is NOT ALLOWED on these forums!

Consider this a warning!

Re: NEW to modding, can you get banned from live by:

Ok my bad just signed up today. But what about using one profile (profile A) just for backups and using a different profile for playing games you already have (Profile B). Im not talking piracy here because say if you made a backup of NHL 10 in case of an accident. At one point the original gets the circular scratch where its rendered useless. Now you can just play the backup, ok thats fine, but say if you want to play a friend in NHL 10 and you want to play live. You cant do that because youll get caught playing a backup and youll get banned. But you only wanted to play NHL 10 against a friend for a week or so, you just rented it so you could play the it online on profile B. MY question is: would you still get caught even though youre using a profile thats never played backups?

This isnt piracy (at least I dont think it is- correct me if Im wrong) because you have already bought the game, and youre just renting it so you could play online. Or is it that were not allowed to talk about backups?

Re: NEW to modding, can you get banned from live by:

unfortunately, getting banned has nothing to do with profiles

its all about getting the ban message logged on the xbox motherboard

if your xbox tells live to ban it, LIVE will ban it

it has nothing to do with what profiles are on it

hopefully you can prevent this ban message by using correctly patched games and ixtreme LT

however, there is no guarantee

Oh ok what would happen if I got banned? Would I lose any progress/achievments ive made? Could I still play offline? Could i still get game updates? Or would I be able to get them on my pc and then transfer them over?

you would not be able to get game updates but you could still play offline

however, you wouldn't be able to switch harddrives easily between banned and unbanned box as banned boxes don't sign content
