I just upgraded my v1.3 xbox from an xecuter 2.3b lite to the X3 yesterday, I removed the old wire harness and the old D0 point from the top. I installed the pin header fine, and HDD and LAN wires were NP, but the D0 point on the bottom wont stick for the life of me. When I thought I got it to stick, the Xbox loads up fine, but with no HDD or LAN led activity on the external chip. IT loads the Cromwell Bios but the controllers barely work in any of the ports. :?:

I will try the flux pen. Even the 1st controller port the controller barely works, only after a few taps does it make a single move, and then stops.

another thing to about the D0 point, its not shiney anymore like the other 6 in the lil row. I think maybe the lil round piece came off.

thats never a good thing :?

if the D0 pad has come off then you won't be able to solder the wire on to it, you will have to find an alternate D0 point.

i will look for pics of one but if anyone else knows of an alt D0 point and can post it then that would be helpful

What about the original D0 point for the xecuter 2.3b lite. which I did on the top, would that work?

the wire idea would work fine, if you just replace the whole trace with a bit of insulated wire and then solder the d0 wire onto either end of it or even onto a part where you have stripped some insulation of like you said

hope this works :)

I tried to replace the trace the solder the D0 to the new wire but that just left my xbox fragging so I removed the replaced trace and gave it a shot at just attempting to reconnect the top D0 in my frustration. 10 seconds later, turn the box on and everything boots fine. After reassembling the whole box I flashed the bios and my dashboard and everythign is back. Thanks much jackdbum for all your help.
