What is it for? The install guide makes no mention of this part being used during install. Is it to be used in connection with an older version that has no use for my install on a v1.6b?

I was going over the install guide before I have my friend solder this bad boy up for me. He works at a major medical manufacturing and assembly plant where they create and solder boards for ultrasound machines so this should be a kick ass soldering job and I just want to cover all bases before I fook everything up.

Thanks....

The wire install adaptor is there for people who don't want to solder in a pinheader.

Personally, the pinheader is a much better solution - the LPC was made to have a pinheader (which is why they fit so well!!), so is the best solution.

Replacing samsung drive

I have a flashed xbox with a samsung drive. The drive is starting to go out and will eventually. I want to replace it with another samsung drive. If I get another samsung drive, does anyone know how complicated it would be to switch them out? What exactly do you have to do to switch them?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Replacing samsung drive

You can do it two ways mate, one is easy one is quite complicated (ish)

The first way is to open up both your samsung drives and swap over the main PCB's - thats the board that has the firmware drive key etc. This is what I did with my 360 that had a knacked drive, worked brilliant.

The other way is to connect your original drive to a computer and get your drive key, then flash the new drive with that drive key - I have never done this so couldnt give you instructions on how to do it.

There is a couple of youtube vids on replacing disc tray's go check em out?
