X3 possible trace repair problem?

I have a v1.6 box that i've been running on a v2.6 lite chip for a while and decided to upgrade. back when i put the chip in the first time there was alot of soldering and resoldering but everything came out fine, minus the box not starting with the chip disabled.

Now i put in the new x3 with the standard lpc rebuild and 5v power, etc. but i ended up have to repair the trace at the LAD2 point on the mobo, and i couldn't find the repair pen, so i used some rear window defoger repair paint, which seemed to fix everything. now the box wont start up, just frags with no error screen. i went over the wires, including d0 till my tester practically ran out of f'ing battery power. so then undid everything and put in the PCB rebuild, still no good.

the chip seems to be getting power just fine, the chips led's light up, the front console to the chip shows flickering hdd activity while fragging, but it stays red.

if anyone has any ideas for me it would be great, i've spent the last few weeks on this dam thing and got nowhere. would a bad trace on the LAD2 cause this kind of error?

Firstly, I don't understand why you even touched the bottom of the motherboard.

The soldering for the 2.6 is EXACTLY the same as the X3. You should have just needed to plug the chip in and fit the extras (power/eject cable, switch bank etc).

If it's fragging with the chip removed, then you'll need to carefully inspect the LPC area. It may even need repairing by someone.

the diagram i was working off from with the x2.6 had a really messed up LPC rebuild with a couple of extra wires, so i redid that and thats when the problems started.

i know that all the other lpc points are good. the only think i can think of is that the actual point was empty before i repared the trace, i know that the trace is repaired properly, but is there anywhere on the front of the board where i can test the LAD2 point itself?

i checked all the LAD points on the back with that diagram, and all of them, including LAD2 seems to be good. since my box is fragging with the modchip unplugged there is a mobo problem somewhere, right?

well i checked all of the traces and contacts on the lpc rebuild and still can't find anything. i'll try repainting the lad2 trace with fingers crossed. but sadly it looks like its time for me to go shopping :?

thanks for the help martin, much appreciated. i'll update if i find anything new.

3 rod after update

My Samsung has been flashed for quite some time now playing all backups without a hitch. Installed the update from Bulletstorm disc and during the update it failed. Now I got 3 rod and my 360 is down for the count.. Any ideas?

Maybe bulletstorm rod's your box, maybe it was just time to go. fix it with an Xclamp repair and a 12v fan mod.
to erase the failed update hold down the sync button on your wireless controller while turning on the xbox360. i doubt your rrod will go away unless your repair it, however please update us on your xbox's status after trying one of the two aforementioned.
