Got a problem with my 1.6 install for some reason the xbox turns on with no problem. but when i plug in the power adapter it wont turn on at all without pressing the power button mutilple times. I,ve installed alot of chips but never had one do this not sure if it's just the adapter or the chip. Just wondering if anybody has any ideas or input for me. THANKS.

Try bypassing the power/eject adaptor at the moment.

If it seems to boot on / off fine without it, you may have a faulty part. I've seen posts where people have had a solder bridge between two pins. If this is the case, contact your supplier and they should send you a new one.

Infront Of my Computer.
Yeah I have read a couple of post about this problem too, most say peel off the sticky pad off the back and see if there are any traces that may be bridging due to a solder spill or something of that nature.

I have a 1.0 Xbox and I did a wire install. Everthing looks good but the power and eject buttons do not work. They do light up. It boots up ok. The external switch is blue. It looks fine on the TV. The controller works and lets me select options on the bios screen.

How do I get the power & eject to work?

This is my first mod!

Thanks for the help!

If I take the yellow plug and plug it into the motherboard; instead of the reset/eject adapter the power button now works but the eject still does not!

what can be wrong?

Can the older X3 work without the power adapter or does the red wire leading from it to the chip make a difference. I also peeled the backing off the adapter and all of the solder points look ok. THANKS
