This should be a simple question to get answered however I haven't been able to get anyone to answer it yet.

On the pro switch, which position is on and off for the bank buttons? So long as I leave all of the buttons in the out positions then everything is fine. When I try to select a different bank to flash a new bios to the xbox just keeps rebooting. I assumed that the buttons were the same as the dip switches but I had more luck flashing a new bios with the old panel of dip switches.

The X3 external switch cable (#7 on the part list) will not fit on the X3 chip.
I assume there is only one wat to fit the cable on the chip?
I tried both sides and it still won't fit right.
If i leave the wire just half way thru the chip, the Xbox doesn't power up.
If i pull the external switch ouf of the X3, then the Xbox boots up ok.
I may need a new external switch (#7 on the part list) because there maybe a tiny pin stuck in one of the holes?
Anyone else having problems with this external switch?

Try Trial And Error
Halomaster: I was going with the trial and error method but things weren't working out to well. That's why I was unsure of the on/off positions of the pro switch. I tried to set the pro switch to a bank that I thought I could flash but then the box won't even power up....it just keeps rebooting. So then I tried the opposite settings thinking I had the on/off positions mixed up...exact same results. Perhaps i'm just being a bios retard or something. I was hoping that someone with a pro switch could shed some light on this. I was assuming the switch settings would be the same:

256k Bank
Bank 1: on on on on
Bank 2: off on on on
Bank 3: on off on on
Bank 4: off off on on
Bank 5: on on off on
Bank 6: off on off on
Bank 7: on off off on
Bank 8: off off off on

512k Bank
Bank 12: on on on off
Bank 34: off on on off
Bank 56: on off on off
Bank 78: off off on off

1MB Bank
Bank 1234: on on off off
Bank 5678: off on off off

2MB Bank
Bank 12345678: off off off off

I was also assuming that when the buttons are pushed in (lights are on) that the switch was in the "on" position. Can someone verify this for me please??? If this is the case then I suspect that I may have some problems.

As far as the problem that you (opticseal) are experiencing I have had no problems at all with the switch cable. Can you see a pin stuck in there???

On the original swith I left all the dip switches to the left (off) and flashed my bios just fine. When I installed the pro switch I left it as it was out of the box (all buttons in the out position which I assumed was off) and everything worked fine.

I thought the pro switch was nice and all but it was sort of a waste of a cool mod if I wasn't going to have it lit up. So I figured I would select a bios bank of equivilant size that utilized more buttons so they would light up and it would look neato. Well, that's when I posted my original question about the on/off position because it didn't work. The X3 works fine so long as I leave the buttons off.

Spoofed BenQ drive says "Play DVD"

EDIT: The drive was faulty. Got the drive replaced and it reads games now. However, it freezes at certain points in the games I play - this is most likely a problem with the GPU and I will reflow it.

I have an Xbox 360 that has a broken LiteOn 74850C LiteOn drive in it (screen freezes while playing some games). I got the key from the drive using my Xtractor Pro v1.2 and Spear. I then bought a new BenQ DVD dive to replace the LiteOn drive. I read the firmware from the BenQ drive and spoofed the stock BenQ firmware using the DVDKey32 extract (Dummy.bin) from the LiteOn drive that was in the Xbox 360. But when I go to play a game, it says "Play DVD". The original LiteOn drive that was in the Xbox 360 does not give me this error (though it does freeze when playing games so that's why I wanted to replace the drive). I repeated this process again, same results. Below are the jf.log files:

Drive is Benq..
From the logs everything looks good. I checked the DVD drive cables and ports and everything seems okay. What could be causing the problem?

Should I read the full firmware from the LiteOn drive then flash it to a new LiteOn drive instead of spoofing a BenQ drive?

Thanks.
