i was wondering if it is possible to use a x3 pro switch on a 2.6, with some fabrications? i was just wondering i think the x3pro switch would look better
then the one that comes with the 2.6.
i see they both have settings for flash protection on/off,chip on/off,and bios bank 1/2, hdd/lan activity lights.
are the plugs differant on the x2.6/x3 chip to switch?
if this has been done or attempted or if you think this is possible or not please fill me in thanks.

I don't know that anyone has done this but if you really want to I'm sure it would be possible. However, the X3 has four banks, where the X2.6 only has 2, so you would have to account for that. Big_Whoopin's schematic of a 2.6 switch is in my sig. That would probably help you figure this out.

The standard X3 cables have a smaller pitch to the connectors than the X2 cables and are not interchangeable, I assume this is valid for the pro switch as well. It may be possible to splice an X2 cable to an X3 cable and have this work with the pro switch but I've got no idea what the wire matchup should be. One trick would be the status LED. On the X2 switches this is controlled by the enable/disable switch, in the schematic I created which Fantmx mentioned you can see how this works. As best as I can tell on an X3 the LED is switched somewhere on the X3 chip itself. I don't think you could make the LED function properly without some impressive circuitry.

But if you give it a go document your progress and post in here. You never know, down the road people may be directing others to your thread, saying "check out stalkster's X2 to X3 switch mod, it's trick!" Worked for me. :D
