Hello,

Just installed another X3 and got the following:

Switch Xbox on
Powers up - Screen turns blue (like cromwell screen but w/o writing)
Xbox Powers Down

Does above 3 times and then Frags....The X3 Panel light stays red through out this.

Try to boot to backup rom by holding power and eject the same thing happens.

If I try and boot with the X3 off the box boots fine....

The X3 panel is always red and both Blue leds on the chip are on. Im working on a 1.4 Pal xbox.

Any ideas chaps?

Cheers in advance.....

i too, have the same problem. i had a working x2.3pro for over a year now. upgraded to a x3 , and the same problem you are havign. I took out continuity meter and pins 9,7, and 15 are shorted together15 and 9 I could understand becuase they are 3.3v But 7 is a LAD3 point. I'm guessing that they shounld,t be.Maybe someone could do a test on there lpc pins and post results. I'm an electronics technician, and took it to work to check it out. The board has been washed and checked for solder splashes, still same thing, I put my old (known working) chip in same thing.... Now my old chip wont' even boot....???? I have spent hours upon hours working this any help is appreciated.... Thanks....

Far from here!
I know you guys have heard this before but double check your solder. Get a magnifying glass if you have to. Unless you removed the pinheader when you swapped chips and it still didnt work. And I am assuming that you were static free when doing this? lol Had a guy zap his new xbox because of no static strap or anything.

It happens! :O

Ok Right - Its NOT my soldering. I have done loads of xbox/ps2/ps1 etc chipping and not had any probs yet. The chip does the same thing in ANOTHER xbox and a good chip works in this box im having issues with so it rules out for definite that its my soldering.

Someone must have an idea....

Probably the same problem here. Soldered the wires to the LPC - used a multimeter to check the continuity from the end of the wire (where u fit your chip) to the bottom of the LPC and everything is soldered correctly.

Even checked the voltages on the pins from the wire and they correspond to those that you're suppose to get.

However the X3 doesn't boot - FRAGS even with the backup bios. I don't have another chip to test so can't say for sure what is wrong.

P/S: This is a v1.1 xbox.

because you didnt have any problems before, you are perfect?
anyway, if another x3 works in this xbox, i'd say your new x3 is broken...

No didnt say I was perfect but to be honest the X3 isnt exactly a difficult piece of kit to solder really is it????? Yeah i tried my perfectly working X3 in this box and it works fine so its NOT my soldering. The suspect chip doesnt work in my machines so it is pointing towards the chip but I just wanted to hear other peoples opinions and as this is an INSTALL SUPPORT forum I thought this may the palce to ask. LMAO.

Cheers for the "help" anyways....

Don't expect many people to invest too much time in trying to resolve your issue when you're acting like an arrogant condescending prick when there are plenty of other people open to suggestion that they're not perfect and it could be an error on their part.

No matter how confident you are in yourself, I bet it's something you overlooked.

Oh.. and if you really want people to help you out... how about telling us what version of xbox you have? You've been sort of vague about everything because you've already convinced yourself that it HAS to be the chip that is to blame.

Make sure you hook-up the 5VDC red sigle wire to the X3 chip. It's soldered to the top of the board.
Maybe this is the problem!!

Bullet - your a d**k mate - read my posts properly and youll see I explained problems quite well and all i got was pathetic answers like its your soldering lol.

Ok my xbox is below 1.6 - what version doesnt matter does it......they all install the same.....apart from 1.6/1.6b.....

Read more of my posts Bullet and youll see ive tried the CHIP in ANOTHER WORKING box and it does the same. A DIFFERENT chip works in this box so what else can it be??? so its something ive overlooked is it....

I thought as this was an install forum then people may be able to help but obviously no one here can......

Any more ideas bright spark.....

Xbox 360 Drive Flash

I flashed my xbox 360 benq drive with the very latest version of jungleflasher and the latest version of ixtreme lite touch v1.1, but when at the very end when jungleflasher verifies the flash, it says 'flash failed.'

When I read the custom firmware with 360 toolbox, in the firmware column, the firmware shows up as original firmware, so I tested it with a backup game and it the game works fine.

Why did it say 'flash failed' in jungleflasher?

Does this mean I have flashed the custom firmware correctly (as I can play backup games), or do I need to flash my 360 drive again?

Thanks
