x3 problems

I installed a x3 on a 1.6 and when I try to boot it up, it powers up for a second then turns off, then powers up for a second then turns off and on the third time it will stay on but no bios screen and it FRAGs.

I double and triple checked my soldering, with a multimeter, i even followed the motherboard and check them way down stream and everything checked.

It boots up to a MS dash just fine, I have another xbox with x3 1959 installed so I switched chips and it still did the same thing.

Yes they are both lit.

What bios did you flash to it? and what were the switch settings?

I tried it with whatever it comes with, the 3.0.3, then I swapped chips with my other xbox that has x3 1959, and it still did the same thing.

my switch setting are 1 on, 2 on, 3 off, 3 off.

Is this a 1.6b?

so does it even go to the flashbios? If not then hold down the power and eject to boot into backup and flash the correct bios.If your other xbox is not a 1.6 then it will do the same thing. You need to flash the chip with 1959v1.6plus. I would assume that is your problem. Try that and let us know if it fixes it. If not then its most likely gonna be your solder.

when i hold the power and eject buttons down it does shows a blank screen but does not cycle power, i will get the bios but i am going to take the rebuild chip off and use wire and see if that does it. wish me luck. If you have any other ideas please post.

are you using the stock av cables?

no i have the monster cables, but they work with my other xbox 1.0

try hooking up the stock av cables then boot flashbios again, tell me if it works.

ok so heres the deal and I am really confused. First I took the lpc rebuild card out and just used wires and then tried it, works like a charm, so it could have been my soldering. Well my confusion is when I used my monster cables it boots up normal just fine, but when I enable the chip it give me a blank screen, so I switched to stock av cables and it works just fine all around. so my question is, is there a fix for this, I am doing this for a friend and Im not sure what he uses. It just seems like that shouldn't matter, like I said they work in my 1.0, but not in this 1.6. Thank you all for your help!!

use stock cables to get to flashbios, flash it, then use the monster cables.
flashbios doesn't like any cables but the stock ones, i noticed.
