Hi,
I was opening my X3 chip package and noticed that I am missing the D0/Lan/HDD cable connector. What do I do now? How do I get one shipped to me or how do I quickly make a connector? I was hoping to get this chip install done tonight for my nephews Xbox.

Thanks,
JW

Sending it back is an option but I wanted to fix it in the next day or so. I doubt I could find a replacement cable molex and rig something myself.

If your really good you could just solder the wires to each of the pins, on the female part of the connector. I'm not sure of which goes where, but you could figure it out from the tuts.

I have actually soldered wire to the points with 30 AWG wire and everything seems to work at that point but it looks like I need to check my LPC solders. The Xbox boots only in MS mode, so I am sure I don't have a good solder point on the LPC somewhere.

Can this be done? Help please..

I have the older version of this with the red black croc clips. One is attached to 3.3v source and the other is a ground.

I was wondering could I knock something together from these parts to do the new no solder hack..Any help would be very much appreciated.. The kit is here

Thanks on the meantime..Roy The Boy.

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

sure you can

all you need to do is put a switch on the 3.3v line of the cable

then use one of your gator clips connected to the ground for the probe aspect (to MPX01)

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

Got a bit ahead of myself there and caught up in the excitement.. So fire a switch on the 3.3v line and does that then need splicing into the dvd power cable..Sorry for the silly question and yep I know there's a tut I just need a basic walkthrough with the gear I've got so I don't fry drives..

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

yep, you will need to cut the 3.3v line on the dvd drive cable, then install a switch

here, check this out

(courtesy of the inventive braveheart)

this shows you how to splice in the ground probe to the dvd power cable as well

however, you don't have to do that as you have ground access already via gator clip

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

Thanks again..I need to walk away and come back to this..Something's just not clicking..I bet it's really simple if it is that's why I'm confused..I've always been like that...I have to switches on my molex break out from pc to the flash kit so I can kill power to the kit should I need. I'm sure one of them is the 3.3v line from my pc to kit..????? I'll be back..I might actually of built everything I need by accident,..lol..

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

here is the thing

1. your dvd drive runs on 12v power

2. your lite-on flash chips runs on 3.3v power

3. your dvd cable has 3 power sources (3.3v,5v,12v)

4. you need to be able to keep the dvd drive powered (via 12v), but power cycle the flash chip (via 3.3v)

5. this cannot be accomplished through the simple switch on the kit, you need to install the 3.3v switch in the dvd power cable itself so that you can power cycle the 3.3v whilst leaving 12v power on

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

Thanks again Joe..Sorry to be a pain in the butt mate..So I could possibly maybe get away with croc 3.3 clipped to the 3.3v on the kit and stick the pogo end into the dvd power cable and of course have a switch on that line as I've never ran the ck3 stuff always used 360 xtractor tackle..I hope I'm getting warm...

Re: Can this be done? Help please..

don't do anything with the 3.3v thing in the kit

look at this schematic to find which wire in the cable is the 3.3v

http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61787

then cut the wire, install a switch

that's all the solder work you have to do

then use the gator clip to the ground of the kit to probe MPX01!

If you was here now you'd slap me..The worse of it is I seen al these home made kits and thought I reckon I could do that with what I've got here at home...I looked at it and then hit the biggest mental wall...Thanks and sorry I'm such a noob..Been repairing and flashing for 3 years now and then I stummbled...Thanks Joe.
