Well here goes. i had installed my x3 chip about a month ago and everything went well untill one night at a friends house. we smelt somthing burning and it was comming from my xbox so i figured it was the chip and i jsut disabled the chip so we could play and i would look at it the next day. so i take it apart today and the x3 chip is burnt along the one edge and my xbox wont work anymore it jsut flashs amber and green but there doesnt seem to be any damnage on the board. i seen a jumper thread for the chip but i cant find it today for some reason if it would even help me at all. so is the worst news im gonna have to buy a new xbox and a new chip? o i also used the pin header so i donno how it even shorted in the first place =\

well, now it doesnt work, and when you smelt it, it did... just buy a new xbox or send the current one to be fixed, look top left of team xecuter links for official repairs store.

Something Sinister

Okay, I received my replacement LITE-ON DG-16D2S 7xx today and replaced the main board with my original. Cool! Soldering went smooth. But guess what? That son of a B*** is doing the same thing such as spinning very fast whilst trying to read the originals, backups, CD's and DVD's. I put in a computer driver disc just for the hell of it and it was normal as it came up as "mixed media disc." Also on the other discs when I hit eject the disc come shooting out like a bat outta hell damn near split my hand in two.

Looks like I ef'd up by ordering this drive because I cannot use the board that came with this replacement because the idiot who had it has NO soldering skills whatsoever and ef'd up the contacts. (Woulda been nice to know that before I ordered it) Im back to square one

Can anyone please shed some light on this situation, so that I may have an idea of what this problem is. It started to happen after I flashed to LT Plus last week. The drive just will not read any originals or backups cd or dvd's since I flashed to LT Plus.

Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Something Sinister

do you have your key from your broken PCB?

just flash the lite-on LT+ from that to the good PCB

this would take about 30 seconds and prevent you having to write a rage post

^ I did flash the lite-on LT+ from that to the good PCB. In fact that was the first thing I did when it arrived. But what good is that when the seller ef'd up the solder threads on the "good" PCB? As far as I know something may be wrong with that one and that makes me wonder why the hell it was tampered with in the first place.

is it possible that my Dummy.bin has messed up info? With the inquiry.bin etc?

so you have your keys, good stuff

1st, redownload the LT+ firmware, sounds like you could have some corruption of a sort in there

2nd, manually spoof in your drive key and serial info into LT+

then try reflashing with that

^ Okay I'll try. Sorry didnt mean to seem fussy toward anyone and on the attack. Just didnt want time and hard earned money wasted on a stupid "replacement" drive that gets me back to where I started.
