X3 skin trouble

I feel really stupid for having to do this but I can't seem to get the X3CL skins to show the background bmp all it shows is the old spinning logo, I am able to select the choke and choke2 skins from the skins menu in CL, but when I click on either one the menus and info position correctly but again there is no background except for the spinning x3 logo like the one from build 1959.

can anyone help?

specs:

xbox v1.3
x3-2913 obviously
120gb Maxtor HD
Samsung DVD drive

did you copy the x3skins folder to e drive?

yes,

I am able to select them from the menu so I dont know what the problem is, I'll try to post a screenshot later.
