Hey guys i have a couple quick question. is there a big difference in the operation of the normal X3 that you must solder vs. the X3 SE (solderless).
I would like to buy this chip but want to get the most operation that i can.

My Second question is that i would like to know if there is a USB port on the X3 Switch.

Thats it guys thanks in advance

The SE is not solderless, it is the same as the original just with the plugs on their sides for easy plug in (also fixes alt 5v short problem). Both are solderless with the Xadapt3r (as long as not 1.6).

The X3 does not have a USB port on the switch like some of its competition, but let me tell you why they use the USB. The others use the USB so people can flash their bios (normally Team Xecuter's X2 bios) to the chip. The X3 is far advanced and uses network flashing. That way you just have your Xbox hooked to your network and type in http://<xboxip> and you can flash any bios off your PC HD.

I have an opinion on solderless.

My first chip was a 2.3lite plus(?). The solderless 2.3. I went solderless because i had never soldered electronics and was scared. Now I know the Xadapt3r is much better than the 2.3 lite, BUT I have to say, the solderless way gave me headaches. There was always the problem of moving my xbox around. between rooms. to a friends house, etc. There was always a chance it would become unseated (I had a 1.0 so the whole solder in the LPC holes made things not fit "just right".)

So when I put the X3 in I decided to bit the bullet and try soldering.

It's really not that hard. Get the right tools. read a bunch. take your time.

I've soldered in 3 chips now (not a lot I know) but you can shake the crap outa the installs and nothing ever moves. It's the best way to go IMHO. Don't be scared. Just be patient. I wish I had gone the pinheader install from the beginning.
