Far from here!
Wow, I have read so many posts having to do with chips not working and frags. And it almost always seems to boil down to "Soldering"....

"Its not my soldering, 10 years experience...."

"Its not my soldering, 20 years experience....."

"Its not my soldering, Grandpa showed me how..."

I think the "Experienced Solderers" (and Newbies!!) need to sit back and

Take your FRIGGIN TIME!!!

Seriously!!!! Its so easy guys! Just relax and dont get so fkn hurried because "I am a PRO"

I have yet to have 1 problem with any of my many solder jobs.
And...it is because I take my time and dont rush...

Trust me...Take it from an "Experienced Solderer".

.....Yeah.....I said it....

apropriate drives for ripping 360 games.

Hi.
just wanted to ask do i have to use a samsung DVD drive with kreon FW, or the drive out of my xbox 360?
or can i use a normal dual layer burner, i have a Asus.
only reason im asking is i dont want to take my 360 apart, and dont want to go out and buy another drive unless i absolutely 100% have to.

also, which program should i use to rip the games?
im using wxripper and it keeps giving me a error message when i try to create the magic number using a DVD movie, the lord of the rings 3 in fact.
thanks.

Re: apropriate drives for ripping 360 games.

Your better off to put the 0800 firmware on it...the kreon fw v1 wont give you a proper rip of the original 360 disc!!!

a 360 drive with 0800 fw will give you a ssv2 rip of the game... Less likely to have problems..

Why aren't you using XBC 2.9 for ripping the games???

Cheers :)

Re: apropriate drives for ripping 360 games.

im not using XBC because for some reason i open it up and i can not click on the start button, it reads the drive, gives me info on the disk inserted but wont let me hit start.

is there any way to get a lite-on drive (thats the drive my 360 uses i think its the RE5 edition red one) without taking my 360 apart?
i know how to take it apart, but dont want to risk breaking something unless i have to.

there are lots of benQ xbox 360 drives on ebay, could i hook that up to my PC and use that to rip the games?
or do i have to use the same drive my 360 uses?

o, another thing if i do get XBC working does it do the stealth patch for me? or do i have to use another program for that?

Re: apropriate drives for ripping 360 games.

You can purchase any drive that has the new 0800 firmware and make a copy of the games you own.

If you make the copies from the disks you own there is no reason to patch it since it is an exact copy of the disk.

You want to use XBC since it is the best one out there, get on the forum once you get your new xbox drive and get it to work. It is actually simple to fix, just some hardware issues you are having.

My suggestion is to get and MS28 drive and flash with 0800 to make copies of the games you own.

Re: apropriate drives for ripping 360 games.

use a regular dvd drive, with kreon FW or wxripper method. however you will get an ssv1 for all your rips. go to http://www.abgx360.net/verified.php find your game. on the right hand side you'll see a number, click on it. find the ss and dmi that matches your iso. when you have your .bin files. open XBC. go to iso tools. tick inject. and inject the .bin files to the iso.

this may sound complicated, im not the best guy to give a tutorial but thats what i do, pretty simple.

Re: apropriate drives for ripping 360 games.

ok, thanks for the advice guys.
if i get a MS28 drive is it fairly easy to flash them with the 0800 FW? ive never tried that before so yeah im kinda going on a limb here.
anyone have a slight idea where i could find one of those in Australia?

o, and just wanted to ask i dont need to open up my 360 do i?
some guides are saying i do, i really do not want to do that unless i have to.
surely theres another way?
