Hello all,

I have installed a X3 onto a 1.6 (Samsung Ram etc), installed the bios and evox dash and everything works fine.

The problem is, booting with the chip enabled, the logo on the on the switch panel doesnt light up blue, but the HD and LAN leds work fine.

Booting with the chip disabled, the X3 lights up red. Booting backup gives red too?

Ive tried swapping that switch panel with other switch panels and same prob.

Have I missed something on the soldering?

I first thought the blue led on the switch was broken, but tried a different switch panel from my other xbox and again same result of no blue light.

I checked all the wires to make sure they are firmly attached into the X3 chip and still no luck

Xbox misreads games as DVD's

hi everyone. bassically, ive having and xbox fix from hell. started as an RRoD, which i fixed, began to overheat which i fixed, the went back to RRoD. ive now got a replacement motherboard from another broken xbox, which ive gotten working well. 1 problem left; DVD drive is knackered... i used the DVD drive from the old xbox, as that was working perfectly still, but replaced the "logic card" i think its called from the broken DVD player (which had motor issues), so its still got the right drive ID for the xbox. it is capable of playing DVD's, but will not recognise any games, 360 or original xbox. as it stands, i essentially have an expensive DVD player that works with the xbox dashboard. any suggestions on how to fix this problem? ill be happy to help best i can with any specifics, but im not exactly a technical whizz. thanks, - Rich

It sounds like the "logic card" had the wrong dvdkey on it in the first place. The only way to retrieve the correct dvdkey is to jtag the console (If its kernel is exploitable)

OR

The dvd drives were completely different. Changing the pcb boards around in Hitachi drives is ok, but putting the pcb board from 1 drive into a completely different manufactured drive will cause problems. e.g Samsung pcb into a Liteon drive.

how do i go about doing this? NOOB here... any tutorials available? if so a link would be HUGELY appreciated :)

and i made sure that they were both of the same model and manufacturer beforehand, both drives are identical.

Hitachi - LG

X800475-016

not sure if the model number helps at all, but there it is...

I don't know the first thing about jtagging a console, never needed to do it before.

What would be best to do is place the "logic card" back into their original drives. Then, retrieve the firmware from the drive that matches the replacement motherboard. Do that and get back to me. Use the jungleflasher tutorial to guide you through the neccasery steps.
