X3 Switch has stopped lighting up, no longer boots to x3

Guys, I have had my XBOX v1.6 for 3 months with the x3 pre fitted. Moved home last week and i think it may have been roughly treated.
When set up in new house the xbox no longer booted to the Evo dash.
Opened the case and the 5V alt wire had come away from its solder point so no power to x3.
I have resoldered it on but although my x3 lights up the external switch does not.
It tries to boot directly to the MS dash. The LED on the x3 chip itself lights up blue. though.

So to recap.
I now have power to the x3 itself but not the the external switch.
It will boot but not to the x3.
I wonder if the chip is now damaged due to the live 5V wire coming lose ?
Any ideas.

is the chip all the way of the pinheader? try pushing it down and putting some electrical tape to hold it down. also, check to see that the wires that head to the switch haven't been ripped, torn, or come loose. hope that helps

Cheers will check the pin hearder, Should it fit all the way down to the plastic base, mine has a1-2mm gap so you can see the bottom of the pins. The x3 Power/eject cable seems to stop it sitting flush.

Is there 2 LED's on the x3 chip or 1?I know for sure 1 lights up.

As for the ribbon stle cable that goes to the external switch bank i have had a good look at that and it look as good as new. Removed it and readded to make sure it has a good connection but nothing going on.

there should be two leds one for 5v and one for 3.3v if 3.3 is not lighting recheck pins 15 and 9.

I'm almost positive that you probably are missing your 3.3v
Recheck your soldering on pin 15 of the header. BTW, is your xbox a 1.6v?

Sorry for the delay in replying i am with out internet access at home at the moment. Its a bloody nightmare. I have to check this from work.

The LED that lights up is the one furthest away from the 5v connection on the X3.
The LED nearest the 5v connection does not light up.
It is a V1.6.
